Mom Emergency Kit from #BabyDepot Saves The Day!

I feel so spoiled, thanks to Baby Depot.

When I was in the hospital a few weeks ago, giving birth to my third and final little girl, I got a message that a package had arrived for me at home.

I was surprised when I returned home to find the cutest "mom emergency kit" aka. basket of baby items from #BabyDepot to help me in the first few weeks of newborn chaos.

All of the items pictured above can be found at your local Baby Depot at Burlington

Before I received this basket, I've always thought of Baby Depot as one of those stores with "overstock" items or products that have a flaw in some way or another.

I was wrong.

Instead of hopping from store to store to find all your baby essentials, Baby Depot at Burlington truly offers the best selection at the best price of the most mom- trusted brands, like:
  • Disney
  • Graco
  • Baby Trend
  • Bright Starts
  • Evenflo
  • Medela and more.....

A bunch of the items I found in the basket, I've seen at current big-name department stores and children's stores.

One of my favorites is the Bright Starts Sensory Giraffe (pictured top left above) - I also received this toy as a gift for my first daughter and she absolutely loved it. Did I mention it has received 5/5 stars on a popular children's product website!

The SPACE wicker basket pictured above is super cute and functional.  Great for your little one's laundry, or to hold their favorite stuffed animals.

Okay, so I've always wondered if those pacifier thermometers actually work, and now I know.  The Summer Infant Pacifier Thermometer included in this basket seems to work great.  I mean, when faced with the OTHER way to take a baby's temperature, wouldn't you BOTH rather the paci method?

Yeah. Me too.

Another one of my favorites from #BabyDepot is this cozy blanket from Blankets & Beyond.  My little peanut has been snuggling up in this during our evening rocking sessions and seems to find it very comforting.

So, the next time you need to shop for some baby essentials, I'd say check Baby Depot out before you go to one of the higher priced baby stores and spend more money on the same items you'd find here for less.

McKinney Mommas' is a brand new Baby Depot fan for sure!

Purex® Crystals Fabulously Fresh Giveaway

I recently wrote a review about Purex® Crystals Mountain Breeze, my new favorite fabric softener and laundry freshener.

I loved the fresh scent & product so much, that I was sent a "sister" product, Purex® Crystals Limited Edition Fabulously Fresh to give a whirl in my washing machine.

Now, like I said before, I typically don't use any scented laundry products, since my husband and daughter both have sensitive skin - forcing us to use only Free & Clear products.

This makes me a sad, sad lady when it comes to laundry time.

My nose just isn't happy without some yummy fragrance in my laundry.

I'm perfectly giddy that I have (2) NEW scents to use in my own personal laundry loads.  The NEW Purex® Crystals Mountain Breeze and NOW the NEW Purex® Crystals Limited Edition Fabulously Fresh.

After using both scents of Purex® Crystals, I will say that the first one I tried, Mountain Breeze is definately my favorite.

The NEW Limited Edition Fabulously Fresh scent is a little more masculine in my opinion, which would be great if I was also washing my husband's laundry with it - but I'm not.

I'd recommend you try both scents and see which one you prefer, if you're washing the boys clothes, I'd say try the Fabulously Fresh (which is kind of funny, since this one appear more feminine than the Mountain Breeze).

Either way, they both do a great job of freshening the laundry, eliminating odors and adding a bit of natural fabric softener to your favorite clothes. I'm a fan.

And now........the part you're all waiting for.....right?

Midnight Pregnancy Cravings Need #QuakerShakes + Giveaway

This post was created in partnership with Quaker. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I don't think I could have gotten through my midnight pregnancy cravings without these NEW Quaker Breakfast Shakes that I was turned on to.

If you've been pregnant, you know about those intense hunger pangs in the middle of the night, that wake you up and FORCE you to go scrounge in the kitchen for some grub.

The worst thing was that fixing a whole bowl of cereal or other snack, meant that I spent too much time awake, and lost precious minutes of sleep. The Quaker Breakfast Shake was my saving grace, as it was easy to sip, feel full and get back to sleep quickly.

I was given a sample of this breakfast shake to try, and ended up sending my husband back to the store for more two days later, because of their convenience to use in the morning for breakfast or in the middle of the night as a snack.

The Quaker Breakfast Shakes come in three flavors:
  • Strawberry * my favorite *
  • Chocolate
  • Vanilla
Plus, these shakes aren't just a bunch of fluff, they include: 8 grams of whole grain oats, 10 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber, and weigh in at only 200 calories!

Not too shabby! Plus, did I tell you they taste yummy and fill you up?

Want to try out Quaker Breakfast Shakes for yourself?

Here's a coupon for $2.00 OFF your purchase of Quaker Breakfast Shakes!

WAIT, there's more. Quaker has teamed up with McKinney Mommas to give you a chance to win a gift card so you can use your coupon and go purchase some delicious Quaker Breakfast Shakes on their dime!

Forget Cookin' - It's a #HoneyBakedEaster This Year!

This post was sponsored by HoneyBaked Ham, however all opinions expressed are 100% my own.

We have a unique situation this Easter.  We won't have any family around, since they've all been in and out the last month or so for the birth of our third (and final) daughter, whom we loving call, "The Bookend."

So, instead of fussing around the kitchen, toting a newborn and two toddlers in attempt to cook an Easter dinner, I'm taking the easy, and delicious way OUT...

HoneyBaked Ham

Since I'm still recovering from the birth of our third bambino, I told my hubby all about HoneyBaked Ham's current In-Store Specials, and sent him to the Plano, TX location on the way home from work today to pick up our meal, with a coupons in hand!

In-Store Specials
  • $54.99 Easter Ham & Turkey Combo – Pair a Turkey Breast (approx. 3 lbs.) with your choice of a Boneless Ham (approx. 3.5 lbs.) or Quarter Ham (approx. 4.5 lbs.)
  • $22.99 Turkey Breast (with any Half or Whole Ham purchase)
  • $24.99 Easter Brunch Bundle – Cinnamon Walnut Coffee Cake and Honey-Spice Bacon
  • Heat & Share Sides: Two for $13.99, three for $19.99

Here is what he picked out for our Easter Dinner:

Main Dish: Half Ham

Now, I'm not sure what we are going to do with 7lbs of ham, but I foresee lots of ham sandwiches in my children's near future.

There's just something about that deliciously sweet and savory crunchy glaze that makes the whole house sing of holiday memories.

This ham was super easy to prepare, just throw a tent of aluminum foil over the top and throw it in a 275 oven for 10 minutes per pound, if you want it warm.  Of course, this bad boy is just as good cold, in my book.

My almost 2 and 3 year old chowed down their portions of the ham, so it's a BIG WIN in my book. All the adults loved it as well.

Sides: Spinach Artichoke Dip & Sweet Potato Souffle

Let's start with the Sweet Potato Souffle. Wow, talk about a sweet home cooking sort of comforting side.

We all loved the crumble top to create a little necessary texture contrast to the silky sweet sweet potato puree below. If we're being picky, it was teetering on the almost too sweet scale, and is probably better as a dessert than a side.

Second, came the Spinach Artichoke Dip. Unfortunately, we went wrong here somehow.

I'm not sure if it was our cooking method (oven) or if it had thawed a little too much on the way home, but this dish ended up as a soupy mess.  I couldn't get it to "gel" together at all, as you can see in the photo, it's practically half full of water.

McKinney Mommas' Note: My advice would be to try another side instead of the Spinach Artichoke Dip, as even despite the watery consistency issue, the flavor was honestly a little too similar to cracking open a boring old can of spinach.

....and for dessert? Rum Cake!

We waited till the kids were asleep, then sliced up a couple of pieces of this Rum Cake with a glass of milk. O-M-....okay I can't bring myself to use that acronym, it's WAY too trendy for me - heh, heh, but you get the idea.

You can really taste the sweet rum coming through this dense, and heavenly dessert.  A little on the expensive side, at $25, but it's sure to be a crowd pleaser, with a little coffee on the side after a delicious HoneyBaked Easter Dinner!

Are you wondering how YOU can relax and make memories this Easter, instead of slave away in the kitchen all day?

I'll tell you!

HoneyBaked Ham has approximately 7 stores in the DFW area to choose from, and of course if there isn't a store near you, log onto: http://www.honeybakedcatalog.com/, order online and have your Easter meal delivered straight to your doorstep!
