Support Education For All Women - Nov 10 is #IAmMalala Day

Can you imagine living in a country where promoting education for women could get you brutally shot?

Malala Yousafzai, a 15 year old girl in Pakistan did just that and was retaliated against by the Taliban.  She was shot in the head, just one month ago for standing up for the rights of women to have access to education in her country.

This event garnered such attention, rightfully so, that the UN representative Gordon Brown has declared November 10 “Malala Day” worldwide!  He will be traveling to Pakistan to deliver a petition, to the president Asif Ali Zardari, signed by over a million people, requesting the discrimination of girls be made illegal!

Did you know that when the Taliban was in power in Afganistan, that no women were allowed to be educated?  It's more important than ever for us to support women across the world in being able to have access to education, however we can.

I am honored to be part of the Mom Bloggers for Social Good and the Global Team of 200, that gives me important topics such as these to bring to your attention.

Ways you can join me in honoring Malala's courage

  1. Sign the petition to deliver education to all children in Pakistan http://educationenvoy.org/
  2. Mark your Calenders for 11/10/12 and stand up for Malala by using your Facebook & Twitter to post #IamMalala on 11/10/12.

I...........AM...........MALALA
