Best Hot Wing Recipe & Jalapeno Popper Dip + Giveaway!

Well the Super Bowl may be over, but one of the biggest sports events has just begun.

The Winter Olympics!  Did you watch the opening ceremonies in Sochi last night?  I did, and my goodness was it beautiful - wow!

I figured that if you can make hot wings and yummy dips for the Super Bowl, why not have some yummy finger food for your Winter Olympic viewing parties, right?

Well, here are some recipes you can use whenever the finger-food mood strikes ya - including (in my opinion) the Best Buffalo Hot Wing Recipe around!

McKinney Mommas Favorite Chicken Wing Recipe

After spending 6 years on the east coast, I learned how to make some pretty mean Buffalo Hot Wings, and after talking to lots of people who work in the restaurant industry back east....they all agreed....a good hot wing sauce begins with Frank's® RedHot® Original Sauce and ends with a heap of butter!

Here are a few super simple recipes for you from Frank's® that are great for your next sports-related party:

FRANK’S® REDHOT® ORIGINAL BUFFALO CHICKEN WINGS

Prep Time: 10 min.     Cook Time:  20 min.

Chicken Wings

Servings: 6-8

Ingredients:
  • 2 ½ lbs.                      Chicken wing pieces
  • ¾ cup                         Any flavor FRANK’S® REDHOT® Wing Sauce

Directions:

1.             BAKE wings in foil-lined pan at 500°F on lowest oven rack for 20 minutes
                until    crispy, turning once.
2.            TOSS wings in sauce to coat.

  • Broil 6-inches from heat 15 to 20 minutes, turning once.
  • Grill over medium heat 20 to 25 minutes, turning often.

McKinney Mommas' Tip: My preferred method is to make my own sauce w/ 1/2 c. FRANK’S® REDHOT® Sauce & 1/2 c. butter, plus I add a dash of soy, and garlic powder to mine. Also, after many years of experimentation, we typically deep fry our wings at 375°F for 8-10 minutes instead of the baking method. Health-wise I'd advise the baking - yummy-wise I'd advise the deep fry method. Heh, heh. According to Frank's, alternative cooking methods are: BROIL 6-inches from the heat 15-20 minutes, turning once or GRILL over medium heat 20-25 minutes, turning often.

Oh, and here's one more dip recipe that I just made for the first time with French's® mustard, a Jalapeno Popper Dip that was really easy to make and my family had fun eating:

JALAPENO POPPER DIP
Prep Time: 10 minutes       Cook Time: 0 Minutes

Spicy Jalapeno Dip Recipe

 Servings: 3 cups

This dip has all of the great flavors of jalapeno poppers without the work.  The hardest thing about this dip is not eating it all yourself!
Ingredients:

  •  1 pkg.                        (8 oz.) cream cheese, soften
  •  1 cup                         mayonnaise
  • 1 cup                          shredded Mexican blend or cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup                         French’s® Classic Yellow® Mustard or French’s® Spicy Brown Mustard
  • 4                                jalapenos, seeded & diced or 1 (4 oz. can) diced jalapenos drained
  • 2 tbsp.                        Panko bread crumbs, toasted (optional)
Directions:

1.    Combine all ingredients except bread crumbs in a medium bowl.

2.    Sprinkle bread crumbs over dip just before serving.

3.    Serve with tortilla chips.

Makes 3 cups

McKinney Mommas' Tip: We tried our dip both hot and cold, and preferred it hot. For a hot dip, spoon dip into 1-quart ovenproof dish; top with bread crumbs. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes or until hot.
