Ever have a scare with your computer shutting down, or memory getting wiped, that you fear you may have lost your precious digital photos?
Picture Keeper, is a handy dandy little device that you can use to backup all your photos onto and lock up in a safe place.
When my sample arrived, it looked just like any other memory stick you'd use for storage.
I plugged it into my USB port (you can do this on a MAC or PC) and my computer recognized the device was new. After a second or two the program popped up saying it found 52 photos to transfer to the device.
Now, I'm a momma and have just a few more than 52 photos. From what I could tell, the device only found the photos I had in the folder that came with my computer titled, My Photos, and then also anything on my desktop.
At first I tried to back
up all my photos, but I have many years worth, and would have needed a
few more gigabytes of storage space to do this successfully.
I happen to keep my photos in a few separate files on my C: drive, so decided to manually choose a few folders to back up on the Picture Keeper - namely my wedding album. The transfer went smoothly, no issues to report. I feel so much better now, knowing that my wedding album has been saved onto the Picture Keeper, and tucked away in case of a computer disaster.
The Picture Keeper I was sent, was the PK 4 their smallest, that would hold 4,000 photos based on an average size of 1MB per photo. However, they have three other options, maxing out with the PK PRO that can hold up to 250,000 photos!

For busy or disorganized moms who don't have lots of
time to back up their photos, the Picture Keeper is a
good option - especially for those precious folders of photos, like
newborn hospital photos, or birthdays.
Like I said, the PK 4 it didn't have enough space to back up all my photos, so for me it would be a product to only save the most important “event” sort of photos and keep the flash drive in a safe place.
